Michael: Jesus H. Christ!

I could hardly believe the news, a congregation in North Carolina voted out members of their church for failing to pledge to support the Republican views of the church's pastor.

What the fuck would Jesus do?

What's next? You have to sign a GOP party card to get into heaven? I'm still nearly speechless on this one, but I wanted readers to be aware of this creeping evil taking over today's GOP. I'm curious to hear your reactions to this stunning news.

I understand that 40 members of the congregation dropped their memberships in protest. Yesterday (Sunday) on C-Span, author David Ray Griffin, Professor of Philosophy and Religion at Claremont School of Theology stated that the ten commandments clearly define it is a transgression of God’s law to bear false witness, covet, steal and murder. (Which is exactly what Bush is doing in Iraq.) In his book, “God’s Politics,” Jim Wallis asks, "Since when did believing in God and having moral values make you pro-war, pro-rich, and pro-Republican?”

According to a news release I read from a London based newspaper, the pastor of the church in N.C. was fired over the weekend.
