Federal Legislative Action: Veterans' Health Tax

Take action!

Republican majorities on the veterans affairs committees in both the House and Senate have voted to impose an enrollment fee on roughly one out of three vets now eligible for health benefits. The fee would be between $230 and $500 a year.

This new 'health tax' was proposed to as part of Bush's budget cuts allowing Congress to retain Bush's irresponsible tax bribes to the nation's wealthiest citizens. Happily, the VA committees rejected another Bush proposal for raising co-payments on the prescriptions of veterans.

Let your legislators know how you feel about Bush's plan to balance the budget on the backs of working people like our veterans.
