Hi. I see you're against the Israeli security wall. I know Arizona has been seeing some of the effects of illegal immigration...what is your view on a potential fence on the Mexican border?

I don't think a wall on the mexican border will do any good. I won't stop, or even slow, illegal immigration, although it might make it more expensive, or shift it to other places. It is obviously impractical to wall the entire border, and so it would likely shift immiragtion flow to more rural area, further endangering the lives of illegal entrants. That I would find immoral and unacceptable.

As to any parrallel with Israe's Wall, I just don't see any. We are not military occupiers of Mexico (although to be historically honest we have pretty successfully annexed a good chunk of it, and are now denying access to the descendants of those from whom we stole it), nor would we be proposing to build such a wall on Mexican territory, nor is there any significant terrorist threat from that border. Despite fears of infiltration by terrorists through Mexico, there are many easier, safer, and just as unregulated means of entry.
