Extraordinary Rendition

Torture by proxy. Surely such a thing could not happen here? Don't bet on that. Our government, on the basis of a secret Presidential finding has arrogated the power to itself to send people with suspected terrorist associations to foreign countries to be tortured for information.

A Canadian citizen just returned to his home country following 10 months of torture by Syrian military authorities courtesy the United States government who delivered him to Syria. Canada is outraged. Soon the world will be outraged. And our President will screw up his brow and tell them that they are either with us or against us.

If you had to decide between siding with torturers, or siding against them, which would you choose? This is wrong and it must end. It will only end with the end of the Bush Administration. Dean's new slogan should be "Elect Bush... Or He'll Torture You." But then again, there are so many outrages to lay at the clay feet of this Administration, it is hard confine one's self to a single one.
